This photo story was captured by Corey Torpie in Westchester County and features her brother and childhood dog on their final outing. The images were taken on medium format film with a toy camera. The experimental photography method was chosen to create an ethereal look and to emphasize a sense of place over form.
Corey Torpie is a Queens based photographer. She studied Political Science and Photojournalism at Syracuse University and works in both digital and analogue formats. Torpie's work focuses on the multifaceted and complex identity and experience of living in New York. Her dedication to community matters and enrichment through photography has led her to teach with the International Center of Photography (ICP) at The Point in The Bronx and with Lantern Community Services in Brooklyn.
